New Law Update for 18–20 Year Olds
As of April 21, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Worth v. Jacobson, letting stand a ruling that Minnesota’s age restriction for permits is invalid. This means:
✅ Minnesota Sheriffs are now issuing permits to otherwise-qualified applicants aged 18–20.
❗ Federal law still prohibits handgun sales to those under 21 from licensed dealers, but it does not prohibit possession or use by adults 18–20.
New or Inexperienced Shooters: Read This!
This is not a shooting lesson. If you’ve never shot before or if it’s been more than 6 months and you’re not confident on the range, you’ll need to take a lesson before attending class.
